Pirahna Games has announced that MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries will be released on December 10th, 2019. The BattleTech combat simulator was originally slated for September but is being delayed so the team can polish the title and avoid a crowded release schedule.

Mercenaries is also exclusive to the Epic Games Store for one year. The game was originally intended for Steam, but Pirahna teamed up with Epic for monetary reasons.

Partnering with Epic gave us the ability to delay our release to early December so that we could make the quality of game we desired as well as the financial footing to make sure MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries could be properly localized with a significant marketing effort.

We also feel very strongly about discoverability and believe that MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries has a greater chance of market success on the Epic Games store.

I honestly wont buy it until the exclusive is over.
I do not mind competition but all this buying exclusives is getting old to me.

As a huge fan of MW4, I've been looking forward to this sequel for 19 years!
I just hope the wait will be worth it...

A good mechwarrior game could be nice to play again. Will be fun to tool around driving an Atlas for a while. I want first person views with HUD layouts and controls like a flight sim for the Mech though.

The Atlas was an absolute beast for close-quarter combat.

I preferred hilltop sniping using an Awesome equipped with 3 Clan-PPGs while sending in my squad for close range engagement.

AC 10 or 15's are nice but PPG's are good too. Problem with PPG's if I remember was the heat. Of course the AC's had the explosive ammo.
