With three episodes of The Mandalorian out of the way, the world can now talk freely about the Star Wars universe's latest lovable creation: "Baby Yoda." While the character's official name remains unknown, Disney and Lucasfilm's merchandising teams are already capitalizing on the green runt's popularity for the holidays. "The Mandalorian" showrunners Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni purposely barred Baby Yoda from early marketing to keep its appearance a complete surprise.
The Child has become a social media sensation since debuting at the very end of the first episode of “The Mandalorian.” Notably, the cute creature has been called “Baby Yoda” because of his resemblance to the iconic “Star Wars” character and the fact that creator George Lucas has never revealed the name of Yoda’s species or his home planet.
