If you're a Windows 10 user who hasn't installed KB4517389 update yet, consider yourself lucky. Microsoft has confirmed that last week's cumulative update may result in a critical error message when accessing the Start menu. A fix will be released in "late October."
While a fix for the Start menu SNAFU is coming, it may not arrive for up to a couple of more weeks. In the meantime, affected users can either deal with a broken Start menu, or roll back the problematic update. Those who choose to go the latter route [can] uninstall the update.
