Microsoft has revealed that WordPad is no longer being updated and will be removed in a future version of Windows. The company shared the news in an updated support article that details all of the deprecated features for Windows, which now includes WordPad, with a deprecation date of September 1, 2023. WordPad is a well-known word processor that Microsoft originally released in 1995, 28 years ago.

Well DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG, isn't that something? Didn't even know it had been around that long, even though I have probably been using it about that long. Yeah I actually do still use it myself, even though I have a bunch of other, better programs that could probably be used for rtf files. Whenever I am dealing with rtf files in Windows I just use WordPad, I guess cuz I'm lazy. Maybe it's weird that I use rtf files at all, I dunno.

I think this is it ;)

In general, Notepad++ has supplanted the need for WordPad as a 'more than Microsoft Notepad' alternative that can do quite a bit more.
