Mortal Kombat 1: Lin Kuei Trailer Reveals Smoke, Rain, and What Happens When a Grenade Goes Off in Someone’s Head

NetherRealm Studios has released a new "Lin Kuei" trailer for Mortal Kombat 1 that can confirm Smoke and Rain will both be playable in the new fighting game set for release on September 14/19, 2023. The introduction of the former is notable, in that Smoke hasn't really been seen on a character select screen since 2011's Mortal Kombat—and while fans of the purple robot variant from MK3 may be disappointed here, the human version remains equally explosive, as proven at the end of trailer that shows off one of his fatalities. Sektor, Cyrax, Frost, and Scorpion also appear in the trailer as Kameo Fighters.
