MSI has announced the 1000R Vision Break Through Boundaries campaign to showcase the ARTYMIS series of 1000R curved monitors. A video for a study about how curved displays can help minimize eye fatigue is included in its press release. Conducted in partnership with the Bradford School of Optometry and Vision Science, it measured eyestrain by comparing different curved panel designs.

Many people use curved monitors to gain a better immersive viewing experience. Since a “1000R curve” most closely matches the curvature of our field of vision, a 1000R Curved...

I wonder if the reduced eye fatigue also applies to office type use cases. I spend more time looking at charts than video.

No thanks. 21:9 3440x1440 ain't gonna cut it for me. I'd prefer some height to go with that width.

As far as I'm concerned, I need something with at least 1600 pixels of vertical height. I prefer more, but that's my minimum if I can have it. Also, I'm not interested in sub 38" displays.

I wouldn't turn down a free on just to play with - a UW 1000R might be kinda neat to play around on a bit, but this wouldn't be the monitor I would put my money towards. Looks like this does have token HDR support (HDR400) and does support Freesync - but I couldn't find anything about refresh rates in the article or source material.

All this seems to be about the curvature and how great it is. I particularly like this:
  • Non-Invasive Tear Break-Up Time
Which I probably could use, for how often I lose at competitive games and it leaves me crying myself to the next game.

I think I like my current dual monitor setup - which isn't far off from 1000R curvature (or whatever I want it to be actually, as I can adjust the angle easily enough), it just has a bezel running down the middle. Not the best for "full UW screen gaming", but doesn't affect productivity at all as it gives me a natural breakpoint for positioning windows and such.

Yeah, they didn't list them but I did put tags for the three models we reported on back in July. They're listed at the bottom. The only one that wasn't in that press release was a MAG model.
