MSI Announces Optix MEG381CQR Plus, the World’s First HMI Gaming Monitor

MSI has announced a new monitor called the Optix MEG381CQR Plus, and it’s supposed to be pretty special because it’s the world’s first HMI gaming monitor. HMI stands for human-machine interface.



Strangely, MSI spent little time on elaborating what that really means for the monitor in its press release, but the feature appears to boil down to a gaming dial and “assistance monitor” that allows users to quickly flip between various settings. That would include volume adjustment, as well as Mystic Light, MSI’s control solution for RGB lighting.



The Optix MEG381CQR Plus is a 38-inch IPS monitor with a 1000R curvature that supports a native resolution of 3840×1600 (UWQHD+), refresh rates of up to 175 Hz, and a response time of 1 ms. It’s also G-SYNC ULTIMATE and VESA DisplayHDR 600 certified, which means that it can hit a peak luminance of 600...

I don’t think you can pack many more buzzwords in there without something exploding
I could just see the video now. Unpacking it. Setting it on a table and looking at all the stickers that are usually affixed everywhere proclaiming all said buzzwords and noticing one that's still in the box. Then, putting it on, and bam, the panel pops out of the bezel.
 
Isn't every input device, from a mouse to a keyboard to a steering wheel, a "human-machine interface?" Or not even just input devices, but anything that allows you to interact with and use a machine? So for example, every monitor out there?
