Myst Remake Coming to Xbox on August 26 with Xbox Game Pass, Includes Support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution

Myst, one of the most iconic PC adventure titles ever, is headed to Xbox consoles for the first time via Xbox Game Pass in a newly re-imagined version developed by original indie studio Cyan on August 26.



While this new edition of Myst will be available on PC and Mac as well (it’s already been released on Oculus with VR support), Microsoft is drawing attention to the Xbox edition today by confirming that it will support AMD’s spatial upscaling technology, FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), for increased performance.



According to Cyan’s marketing and brand manager Jeff Lanctot, Myst has no problem running in 4K/60 FPS on Xbox Series X consoles thanks to FSR. The Xbox Series S version of Myst benefits nicely from FSR as well, enabling a 1440p/60 FPS experience.

Why would they remake that? The gameplay was definitely a product of its time and I'm not sure it would go over well. However, more modern gameplay mechanics might not be well received. I don't know, but this seems like one of those things that best remembered in the past.
 
I just remember it being a lot of QuickTime videos stitched together between some puzzles
 
I coulda sworn Myst already got a remake. Or was it a remaster? That might have been it.
 
I can remember playing this for hours only to be let down by the end. This should stay in the past.
