saltycroissant has managed to claim the #1 spot on HWBOT's list of 16x 7-Zip ranking records with an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, and while the feat is probably notable in itself, the Canadian overclocker pointed out that he was able to accomplish this on the B650M-HDV/M.2—a B650 microATX motherboard from ASRock that only costs $139.99, according to retail listings found at the time of this writing.

That is fun to see. Though I suspect it took LN2 cooling. If you're going to risk destroying hardware to do it... risk the cheap stuff!

The funny part is that the amount of power delivery is not at all the issue, even with a 6GHz+ 7950X.

No, even the cheap ****ty VRM's on some of the budget boards can certainly deliver a lot more power than these CPU's need in the short term. The issue is that they probably won't last as long as their premium counterparts being pushed every day gaming or whatever.
