Lucasfilm has closed a deal with Simon Kinberg, the American filmmaker partially known for writing and producing a number of X-Men films for 20th Century Fox, to develop a third trilogy of Star Wars films, according to a new Deadline report.

We'll see whether or not this actually gets off the ground. Rian Johnson was supposed to have a trilogy and there were supposed to be some new movies centered around Rey Palpatine. Ultimately none of that is likely to happen.
