Ninja Theory turned a lot of heads when it released Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice in 2017. Despite being a lower-cost, "indie triple-A" title, it turned out to be a beautiful work of art that earned critical acclaim for both visuals and storytelling. Microsoft was so impressed that it acquired the studio in 2018, and now, we have the first result of that partnership: Senua's Saga: Hellblade II. The announcement trailer doesn't reveal much in terms of story, but it does tease the power of the Xbox Series X (all footage was captured entirely in engine).
The possibilities of what Xbox Series X enables developers to achieve was also brought to life this evening with the unveiling of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II. A sequel to the award-winning Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice from world-renowned developers Ninja Theory, the game is being built to leverage the full power of Xbox Series X. The footage shared tonight was captured in-engine and reflects the power of Xbox Series X available to developers to deliver new universes, experiences and games in ways you have never imagined.
