MGM has confirmed that Daniel Craig’s last adventure as James Bond, No Time to Die, will be available to rent in the US on demand this Tuesday, November 9. Fans of the iconic British Secret Service agent who decided to forgo the theatrical experience did not have to wait long at all, as the film debuted in cinemas a mere month ago. No Time to Die will be available to rent on Amazon, Apple, and other major platforms for $19.99.

When a movie... A MOVIE... that brings out monarchies, CEOs, powerful legislators around the world to its premiere (the last time that ever happened was before television), yeah, that's normal. /s

It might very well be unusual, but the box office take makes a strong case that the franchise isn’t dead. How it fares without Craig, who knows? Time will tell.
 
I honestly think this is going to start being the norm with movies.
 
I just googled PVOD, and I got6 a million hits for "Pulmonary Venoocclusive Disease" and nothing else.

What is this PVOD of which you speak?

It's funny.

I've seen every prior Bond film, but I have yet to get around to the Craig films.

I'm not avoiding them on purpose, just hasn't been a priority.
 
Yeah, I haven't watched the Craig films. I mostly got bored with the franchise after Moore left. I watched a few of the ones in between Moore and Craig but I can't remember any of them, that might be for the best. I grew up with Connery and Moore and that was pretty much all I wanted to see. I've got nothing against Craig just not really interested.
 
Yeah the Pierce Brosnan\Timothy Dalton ones suck. Travisty and atrocity.
The Daniel Craig ones aren't bad, but, as mentioned, it's hard to like without Connery or Moore

I mean, I kind of enjoyed Pierce Brosnan as Bond. But that's also the Bond that was in theaters when I was in my teens. (As a kid Timothy Dalton was bond, but I never really cared for him, and I was really quite young at that point. I'm actually surprised I was allowed to watch Bond in the 80's)

Before the Craig films came out, I revisited all of the Bond films in order. My recollection of Dalton's Bond was more or less the same. Brosnan's Bond in retrospect feels very 90's, but hey, that's the decade it was.

I have to admit that I struggled a bit with some of the older ones. Sean Connery's Bond was at times quite a cad. Some of the depictions of his getting it on with women were borderline and some not so borderline rape, at least by modern standards. I had seen them before and I guess never quite picked up on it, but through a modern lens it was quite jarring.

Roger More's Bond seemed to tone that down quite a bit which was good, but there was just something about that guy I never quite liked. Too generic 70's Ken doll playboy. Mostly boring and forgettable in my mind.

Everyone keeps telling me I'd like the Craig era in Bond, as it is a more gritty and realistic take on the franchise. I just havent gotten around to watching them yet. I think find his resemblance to Putin a little off-putting too :p
 
If you do watch any of Craig’s Bond films, the first one, Casino Royale was the best. I can’t speak on the new one, but the other ones in the series really drag on, especially Spectre.

I'd agree, Casino Royale was the better of the Daniel Craig ones. Skyfall I didn't mind, Quantum of Solace.... it's an action film Spectre I liked about like Skyfall, and the new one.... I dunno yet. I will let you when I watch it later tonight after I check out Shang Chi and the Legend of the 10 Cock Rings....

Casino Royale was definitely the best Craig one. They become less tolerable with each film and I'm not even bothering with this one, the reviews were not kind. I don't dislike him as an actor, but I never liked him as Bond. As far as Brosnan goes, Goldeneye was great but the others less so (Die another Day was ... ok but had some stupidity)

And actually the 360 era Bond games (Casino and QoS) are better than the movies. If you haven't played those, check them out.
 
The reason movies are moving faster to streaming is there is so much content competing for viewers eyeballs. If the movie didn't catch on and gain a ton of feedback you have to transition to digital before people just forget about it and loose interest in it. Or you do another huge marketing push to get people to watch it once it goes digital.
 
I saw the Bond movie. It's, ok. Predictable and Daniel Craig's last Bond movie goes out with a bang.

I have seen better. Unfortunately the actor that plays the villain I can only see as the singer for Queen...
All in all it seemed like a rush to get it out of the way so Mr. Craig can go work on other projects
