NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Is Up to 24 Percent Faster than AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT, according to First 3DMark Scores

NVIDIA’s latest GeForce graphics card for budget gamers could be a substantially better pick than AMD’s option, according to the first 3DMark benchmarks shared today by VideoCardz.



As indicated by the TimeSpy results, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 may offer up to 24 percent more performance than the AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT, which scored 1196 and 532 points lower than the competition in the TimeSpy and TimeSpy Extreme tests, respectively. The scores also suggest that the GeForce RTX 3050 could line up pretty closely with the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, an older card leveraging the Turing architecture.

I'm not terribly surprised. The 6500XT is awful. Not only that but it's 30 series is generally faster than any of the equivalent RX 6000 series parts up and down the stack pricing not withstanding.

I don't generally put a lot of stock in 3DMark by itself though.

Well, it sounds like the RTX 3050. But it also sounds like you could just keep running your old card and depending on what it is, you might come out well ahead of a 3050.

I mean, its sounding to me like anything equivalent to a GTX 980 Ti would provide better performance in games than either of these turds.

Sorry but I truly had to laugh at that. I find it a bizarre miracle that after all these years a 980 Ti even gets mentioned. Never had one but it really caught my attention and I was so happy to get a 1080 Ti. There were so many times I almost got one but decided to hold out. I still bench that thing at 1080p/1440p just for laughs with some newer titles.

/sad face ... my daily driver. On the bright side, it's no RTX 3050. ;)
