Such great cards. I only just retired mine last year along with the 2600K.Will my mighty 1080ti finally get upgraded? Time will tell. Sounds like my power supply would get a workout though.

Between my two desktop rigs, I went through more GPUs in the last 5-6 years than I care to admit to but I will say that I'm happy with the 3090 Ti's that are now in both. With DLSS they can do upwards of 120 FPS for most of the demanding games I play at 4K and still hold 60-80 for the tougher ones with minimal compromises. I'm pretty confident that I'll be skipping ADA.This 6900xt won't be around for that long. That is for sure.

The only upgrade I'm planning on will happen when I retire the ol' 4930K. I'm really starting to see some bottlenecks with that older architecture but it's still chugging along. That 6c/12t @ 4.3 GHz CPU has had issues with some modern games. It's been an awesome ride with it though. I bought a Gigabyte UD3 X79 board for it back in the day (8+ years?) in order to be able to adapt to a number of then present and future ideas and it's been awesome. I've done more different configurations with that rig than any other that I've ever made/owned and introduced me to the concept of a HEDT setup. Seriously that thing was a borderline server/media-management/gaming rig.
I agree with this -- nVidia won't release the 4k series until they have milked everything out of the current gen they can. Yeah, they'll have to eat a bit of loss this late in the game, but writing off a bit on the tail end of what was otherwise a record-breaking generation for sales ("We can't tell how much was crypto" my @$$) is a lot better than starting out a new generation in a soft position.I wouldn’t count on next gen being too soft. Nvidia is holding back current gen cards from partners so they can clear out current stock in preparation for next gen. Nvidia knows the crypto gravy train is over for now. Hopefully it never comes back.

I'm hoping that we see a true Titan this time around. I've noticed that ever since Pascal that NV has been alternating different branding schemes. From Super to Ti to the return of x90 which to some extent replaced Titan. I don't believe any of us want a return of Super but it'd be nice to see a full product stack instead of multiple versions (i.e. 8/10/12 GB of the same GPU). The 3090/3090 Ti are impressive beasts but it'd be nice to see the king return. They could've teased an early ADA release with an Ampere Titan using a scaled-down ADA that surpassed the 3090 Ti. I think I remember reading a post from Igor W. that the 3090 Ti PCB could actually be used for some ADA.Titan class.
