Back in March, lead architect Mark Cerny confirmed that the PlayStation 5 would support PS4 games, but there was a disappointing caveat: only the top-100 titles would be backward compatible at launch, since Sony wanted to test each and every game individually to ensure bug-free compatibility with PS5’s advanced hardware. That’s certainly better than no backward compatibility at all, but now we’re hearing that Sony may have undersold just how many PS4 games will be playable on the PS5 when it launches.

Totally agree. It totally made sense going from the PS3>PS4 CPU's but honestly there shouldn't be a reason from 4 to 5. About the only thing they should have is a frame limiter for those games that were not designed beyond 30 or 60 fps.
 
That's cool. I guess they said about the list just so if you loaded an un tested game and it didn't work they can avoid bad press by pointing its untested/ yet to be tested.
