Primegrid Challenge Series 2026

Next challenge of the year. This one is the PPSE sub project. These tasks need between 1.5MB and 2MB of L3 cache. Which means most all modern CPUs can run these single threaded on physical cores only. Verify your CPU has the L3 to handle it though.

It's a fast sub project with task completion times around 30 minutes, this it's only a 3-day short challenge.

Still in second place. The team in first place is slowly pulling away from us.

If anyone wants to help out, wouldn't take much to close the gap. A single 7950X, for example, can do a little over 250k points per day on it and we're currently around 685k points behind them.

We are getting our butts kicked. Need more people to help us this challenge. Its 5 days long and these tasks are tough.

Finding a SR5 prime will put you in the top 100 largest Prime numbers in the world. Current rank for one found right now would be 66th place.

Currently we only have 9 people participating. CNT, the team in first place, has a 36 man roster. So we're holding our own, but not enough to take first place.
 
BTW, this is one of PrimeGrid's "conjecture projects". The conjectures in the Sierpinski/Riesel Base 5 Project are:
  • One or more primes of the form k*5^n+1 exist, for any k < 159986.
    At this time, there are only 27 k's left for which this has not been proven yet.
  • One or more primes of the form k*5^n-1 exist, for any k < 346802.
    There are 52 k's left for which this has not been proven so far.
The awkward thing is: Should the conjectures be false, PrimeGrid's effort of attempting to prove them will go on for all eternity, as higher and higher n's need to be tested...

IOW, if *you* find a prime here, you will be celebrated as a hero who rid mankind of another one of those pesky k's. :-)

It's more extensive than statsgr.id. Most of the text is in German only, but it's quite self-explanatory.
Within a team page or a user page, click on the "Vergleich" tab, and you get graphs which lets you compare with teams/users in front and behind. You can further filter these graphs for clarity.
 
Chrome in-browser translator will translate it to English also.

Pretty sure statsgr.id has graphs you can filter also, but I do prefer the Seti.Germany version.

It has more details and more graphs for different metrics than the other one. Such as each quarter hour updates and positions.
 
Oh right, at statsgr.id's "All teams" and "All users" tables, we can select a bunch of teams or users and make a graph for the selection. I didn't notice until now that they added this feature. (And in both the default and custom graphs, it is possible to deselect teams/users, like at the seti-germany site.)
 
Unless it is "Beer Parsnip Soup", I prefer my beer and parsnips on the "rocks" :) And in a glass and on a plate... Thank you. Nothing against a clay bowl, but it sounds unfinished.... :)

Well we've gained a few more members. Up to 13 teammates participating now.

We've also managed to claw our way into first place.
