I would be happy with the mining craze prices, way less ridiculous then what is going on now, I hope that ones there is some stock prices will go to more sane levels, right now, it's MSRPx2 and then someThis sounds like rumor-mongering to keep the FOMO real and prices high right before AMD's release.
Even if it is true - I have to question if the demand is really there at those prices. Sure, they may be selling out, but ... if you had enough cards to satisfy the demand, how far off from that point are you, really? I say that, but then again I remember the mining craze and how much stupid money is out there that people will throw around without a care... the answer will make me further question my faith in humanity, I'm sure.
Yeah, MSRPs hadn't skyrocketed (yet), but what I really had in mind during that era were people buying GPUs by the crate-load, no matter what the price was.
