Quake is officially back. Twenty-five years after the release of the original on June 22, 1996, Bethesda today released an enhanced version of the iconic dark fantasy FPS for PC, Xbox One (including Xbox Game Pass), PS4, and Nintendo Switch. It also includes backward compatibility for Microsoft and Sony’s next-gen consoles, the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
Bethesda’s new enhanced re-release of Quake features a number of welcome upgrades over the arguably outdated-looking original. These include support for resolutions of up to 4K, as well as widescreen support on compatible platforms. Quake fans can also enjoy enhanced models, dynamic lighting, anti-aliasing, depth of field, and other visual enhancements.
As for multiplayer, the Quake re-release supports split-screen, online, and cross-play multiplayer with dedicated servers for online deathmatch...
