I kept thinking I'd heard that marketing tag thrown around before and you're totally right. I forget which but I do remember having a game getting bundled with a card a very long time ago (Hitman maybe?).

I only recall Final Fantasy 7 with AWE64 midi support, but I'm sure there were others. Soundblaster threw a lot of proprietary crap at the wall and little of it stuck.
