Remastered and AI...

So looking at the plethora of remastered titles coming out... do you think an AI would be able to take existing content... upscale the textures and make in place texture/materials updates to work in an newer engine then do the import and pass along the last 10% to devs to finish? There by alleviating a large part of the tedium and low level artist/dev work needed?
 
Oh yes that's right. I wonder if that's what these devs are doing.
