Resident Evil 4 Tops 5 Million Units Sold amid Rumors of RE9’s 2025 Release

Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 4 has sold over 5 million units worldwide since its release on March 23, 2023, for the Windows PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms. The new milestone comes a day after rumors of Resident Evil 9 began surfacing online, which, if Dusk Golem is to be believed, will be released by Capcom in 2025, with a reveal set for next year. RE9 is expected to utilize the RE Engine and stick with the first-person viewpoint that was introduced to the series in 2017's RE7 Biohazard.
