Prometheus and Alien: Covenant didn’t do a lot of favors for the Alien franchise, but Ridley Scott isn’t giving up yet. In a recent interview with Forbes regarding his latest sci-fi streaming series, Raised by Wolves, the legendary director confirmed that he is working on another Alien movie. While the story is unknown, Scott gave the impression that it could be a reboot of some sort.

“That’s in process,” Scott revealed. “We went down a route to try and reinvent the wheel with Prometheus and Covenant. Whether or not we go directly back to that is doubtful because Prometheus woke it up very well. But you know, you’re asking fundamental questions like, ‘Has the Alien himself, the facehugger, the...

Seems like empty talk to me. It's cute headline "confirms" but if there isn't even a story that means it doesn't exist. Movie can only be called confirmed if it has a screenplay, a director, and a lead actor attached to it.

I liked Prometheus, but probably only because Noomi Rapace is my favorite actress currently.

I liked Prometheus and Alien: Covenant at least compared to anything after Alien 3 (Alien 3 has grown on me and I appreciate it more now).

I didn't much care for the Space Jockeys, but that's probably because nothing Scott could explain about the space jockeys would equal decades worth of 'imagining' what the species was since the original Alien. I still want them to look like giant elephantmen!

Anyhow, I really don't want to see a 'reboot' of this franchise. I'd be okay seeing a story that takes place in the same 'universe' as the Alien movies, but involve humanity coming across a different species. I think the 'industry' look of this franchise is every bit as iconic as the Alien themselves.

I liked the "feel" of Prometheus and Covenant.. I enjoyed both movies. My least favorite is probably Resurrection .. a bit too much on the campy side

I'd definitely check out whatever next comes down the pike with the Alien franchise... even if it's only Alien'ish.

I've watched the 1st 3 episodes of Raised by Wolves and think its alright .. I'll continue to watch and see how things flesh out.

Covenant was a good Alien movie, while Prometheus was a decent sci-fi movie. My problem with Prometheus was that they tried to give an explanation to everything while there was no need to, and the writer/director brought far too much of his beliefs on religion into the story. I am kind of interested in seeing where they were going with David at the end of Covenant, but maybe it would be better to just put the whole thing to rest for good.

People seem to forget that while Ridley Scott directed the first one, he isn't the writer behind the first movie. And given how bad the last two movies were, why would any studio finance another entry into the franchise at this point?

I totally recommend checking out this fan-edit someone made splicing Prometheus and Covenant together. It's by no means perfect. They used a flashback style to combine the movies, along with deleted scenes that we're only available online, to tell both stories in parallel. Overall, to me, it feels like a much better movie. It's called "Paradise". I came across it in a thread somewhere about a year or so ago and was totally impressed. Still a couple of things I'd do differently but again, overall, I think an improvement.
