Rumor: Third-Party NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 GPUs Will Have Up to 20 GB of RAM

Last weekend, the first alleged benchmark for the GeForce RTX 3080 surfaced with a 2.1 GHz max core clock and 10 GB of RAM. Now we’re hearing that certain variants will boast twice that amount of memory. According to leaker kopite7kimi, the PG132-SKU20 part/PCB is an RTX 3080 from one of NVIDIA’s add-in-card (AIC) partners with 20 GB of GDDR6X RAM.

I'm thinking it's bullshit. I game at 1440p and have never seen all 11GB of VRAM used on my 1080Ti. Maybe those 4k textures use a lot more.
Either that, or they are trying to appeal to the professional crowd (or rather, a hobbyist content creators) and make this a "budget" offering with an added benefit of making it a gaming card. Their Quadro line offers 48GB GDDR6... but it's also $5,500. Not many hobbyist on the tight budget will go for it, but many would be happy to jump on this at sub $2k.
 
I'm down for a 3080 if it's around 700-800 bucks.
