Samsung has shared a press release confirming some of the improvements that the manufacturer has made for its 2022 lineup of premium Neo QLED TVs.

While this isn’t stated anywhere in the press release, Engadget has reported that some of these sets, which include not only 4K but 8K models, will be the first TVs from the company to support 144 Hz refresh rates. This is an improvement over LG’s competing OLEDs, which natively function at 120 Hz.

“[…] the mainstream Neo QLED sets now include what Samsung says are the first 4K and 8K sets with 144Hz inputs instead of the usual 120Hz,” the publication reported. “The extra fluidity won’t be immediately useful when even the fastest PCs struggle with high-speed 4K and 8K content, but you won’t have to worry about your premium TV becoming obsolete any time soon.”

Oh... I haven't owned anything with the direct brand name Shamsung on the device in many years (even our appliances were all upgraded from that mess), so...

**** NFT's.

I can't speak to their appliances, but Samsung TV's are top notch.
Samsung and LG appliances are hot garbage.

I always buy top end model Samsung TV's though. Never a problem. At least not for my expectation of 10 years of service life. My Samsung plasma is 13 years old and just starting to have panel issues. My JS8500 is going on 7 years old and still looks perfect.

I have an LG fridge. Can confirm its garbage.

Had a Samsung fridge about 10 years ago.... had to have it serviced 5 times in 3 years, which tripped the lemon policy in the extended warranty. Got a Frigidaire as a replacement. The only thing that has failed on that is the ice maker, but those are easy enough to replace once you see it done.

Samsung Fridge. Same garbage. I bought an external ice maker rather than repair the crap one in the door - it makes 10x more ice, and cost less than the repair.

Have LG washer/dryer -- knock on wood so far both are ok.

The only LG appliance I have is the range in our kitchen. It came with the house and was relatively new when we moved in. It never worked right. The burners were just off. Like the simmer burner had a massive flame. I had to take the top off and pull all the jets. Luckily they're numbered for size and I was able to find a service manual online to show where the jets should go. Yeah, they were all in the wrong spots. Range runs a lot better now, and the dual ovens seem to work ok.

Just rubs me wrong that no effs were given when they put this thing together. And I've known too many people with Samsung fridges, washers, dryers, dish washers that were all junk within a couple years. Or the repair costs were 3/4 the price of a new unit.

I never thought of that. We used to live in a mobile home that had a GE that had the same problem. I cleaned the h out of that thing and never got it to work right.

I was comical. The flame on the simmer burner was like 10" high. Turns out the jet that was in there was supposed to be in the big power plus burner. And the simmer jet was in the big oval middle burner, barely had any flame at all.

I have a fairly high end GE Profile induction range/oven, and the matching microwave/convection oven. Both are utter garbage and I wish I hadn't bought them. They work and nothing has broke on them, but very poorly. I wasn't expecting miracles in cooking with electric anything, but these just are bad.

So I wouldn't say GE is any better. I really really want to run a line into the kitchen from the propane tank - it's my dream whenever I can afford that kitchen remodel. I probably spent more on that induction range top than I would have just getting a gas line run and buying a decent gas range in the first place.

In my old house (which was a mobile), I had a Whirlpool gas range/stove - nothing crazy, fairly basic. It ran great for about 4 years, then the CO alarm started going off. Whirlpool took care of it though - and bought the stove back. I replaced it with a Kitchenaid, and that thing was nice. It wasn't a Viking pro model or anything, but it cooked really well and had nice over and heavy duty cast iron grill on the top

My Samsung TV so far works fine, and when they bricked my Blu ray with an update they fixed it free of charge in a decent timeframe. I did hear a lot of horror stories about their monitors.

LG fridge has worked fine for a long time but the last 6 months it's been making a hell of a lot more noise, had a repair guy look at it, it's not realy fixed but he did give it a good clean and it has been better.

My LG monitor so far seems fine other then a bit of bleed in the corners that's invisible when not on a black image. Electronics are always a bit of a gamble.

Samsung has also developed a new platform for its 2022 Smart TVs that will allow users to mess around with NFTs from the comfort of their couch

Wait - wtf?!
