That's according to the @OreXda account, which shared an exclusive report this week about how Samsung may be terminating its existing strategic IP licensing agreement with AMD, which just so happens to have been recently extended in April 2023 as part of a deal to bring multiple generations of high-performance, ultra-low-power AMD Radeon graphics solutions to an expanded portfolio of Samsung Exynos SoCs. Samsung is thinking about severing ties with AMD because it's working on it's own GPU, developed as part of a goal of keeping more hardware in-house. The Exynos 2200's GPU, the Xclipse, is capable of hardware accelerated ray tracing (RT) and variable rate shading (VRS) thanks to AMD's RDNA 2 graphics architecture.

They didn't seem to be using AMD for very long. Sounds like another case of Samsung trying so hard to be Apple.
