The gaming display ecosystem is about to undergo its next change as Samsung teams up with NEXON to introduce the world's first HDR10+ game. The Consumer Electronics Association first released its HDR10 standards in 2015 and since then the HDR landscape has continued to expand. As the open VESA Certified DisplayHDR/True Black standard has begun to creep into the PC arena, HDR10 which is also royalty-free, has largely dominated in both modern console and PC games while DolbyVision (2014) has mostly been ignored in the gaming community. Samsung in turn has gone all in with royalty-free HDR implementations with its displays and is moving forward with HDR10+ for its next generation of monitors and televisions.
