Samsung to Debut World's First "Zero-Bezel" TV at CES 2020

Samsung is planning to introduce a premium, bezel-less TV at CES 2020.

There are quite a few TVs out there that claim to be bezel-less, but Samsung engineers say this the first true "zero-bezel" display.

The design was presumably achieved through a new technique allowing for the panel and body to be tightly weld together.

This bezel-less design will only grace Samsung TVs that are 65 inches and larger, however.

During an internal meeting ahead of the launch, CE chief Kim Hyun-seok XX and other executives gave the product a two-thumbs up, the sources said. Samsung plans to mass produce the TV beginning February, indicating that it’s more than a superficial technology.

Bezel less is only good for multiple displays so not sure why so important on TVs.

Big bezel can be annoying. Yes you can tune it out - screen door effect and all, hopefully this makes its way to more affordable Monitor quality displays.

I agree this would be more useful in monitors.

My 11 year old Sony Bravia EX700 (still has an excellent 1080p picture BTW... so much so I'm having a hard time justifying a replacement) is rocking TWO INCH THICK bezels. When it is off and the room is bright, people are like.... WOW look at that old TV, is it a plasma? But when it is on no one says anything, you do kind of zone out and you don't see the bezels.

From what I read - Samsung’s microLED (The Wall) panels are like legos. Each panel is something like 75”, and you can combine them together for various shapes and resolutions. And they can do this because they are bezel-less.

Not sure they are talking about the same capability here, but the bezel-less design sounds similar

Wonder what kind of line/crack is visible at the boarder with the 'lego' TVs? Would it work (for me) for gaming? Were they curved (or curve-able) could one set up 180 or 270 around your desk (small podium type desk with just keyboard/mouse) and have full immersion?

Anyhow that's the direction no bezels takes my thinking.
