Phil Harrison, the vice president and former head of Stadia, has "quietly left the company," reports Business Insider. According to the publication's sources, Harrison actually dropped out of Google back in January, and while it's unclear where he's headed next, critics of the British executive believe that his departure probably had everything to do with the failure of the cloud gaming platform that he was responsible for. Harrison, who was also involved with the PS3 and Xbox One's less-than-stellar launches, confirmed that Google had given up on Stadia in a September 2022 post that explained how the company would be refunding all Stadia hardware purchases made through the Google Store, and all game and add-on content purchases made through the Stadia store.

Google didn't push aggressively enough. Sadly in this market, aggressively enough mean risk losing billlions, and having absolutely nothing to show for it, at least for the standia plataform itself.
It meant buying studios left and right ( not necessarily huge one but studios) It meant creating them too. It meant free hardware with long free trials. It meant, as you bring game developers you give them a better deal, other than crunch time, and whatever else abuses in the market, as to attract more talent.
It meant serious commitment. Not all would have been a loss, if the plataform failed but some games succeeded elsewhere ( to reduce risks logically I think you would need to release everywhere, maybe with a time delay.)
They didn't do any of this. This was never suitable for the Google incubator experiment bull attitude they do, ANYONE would know this. The drunk at the 7-11 that yells at clouds know this about this market. Its bewildering. Yeah, the tech they developed just fine, should have ( maybe they are) rent it to nintendo, leap frog ( not a joke), and so on.
