Sony Electronics has announced the pricing and availability for its 2022 lineup of BRAVIA XR televisions, confirming the price of what home theater aficionados will have to pay for some of the company's latest display technologies.

Charges 8 grand for a tv.

"We just don't understand why these tv's are not selling through. It must mean nobody wants 8k."

I'm waiting for Samsung's 75-85" QD-OLED's. We've been chomping at the bit to buy a new TV and I keep waiting. QD-OLED seems like the ticket until true micro-LED is available at a reasonable price.
 
There is barely any difference in the experience between 1080p and 4K in movies for me. I actually demoted my netflix from 4K to regular HD subscription, because I don't want to pay extra for a minor difference. Then why would I pay thousands for 8K? There isn't even 8K content available. Besides as I mentioned a billion times already. Give me HFR instead, don't buzzword me with 8K.
