Space-Combat Shooter Chorus Gets an Eight-Minute Gameplay Trailer

A new eight-minute gameplay trailer for FISHLABS and Deep Silver’s space-combat shooter Chorus has been released. In it, the main character, Nara, can be seen engaging in combat, flying inside structures and launch bays of ships, exploring temples, and taking on the forces of the prophet to prevent it from taking over the universe. Toward the end of the trailer, the player can also be seen choosing various ship upgrades.



Early response for the trailer has been mostly positive so far, with people commenting on the game’s physics, mechanics, controls, and visuals. The game is also said to feature ray-traced reflections. Fans of retro-styled shooters may want to keep an eye out for this modern take on the genre.

Oh this is that one that looks kinda like Descent. I'm interested - these style games it always depends on if I can get comfortable with the control scheme or not.
 
Graphically I'm not too impressed really but the game play look smooth and fast and I'm a sucker for sentient ships. Makes me think of nightrider. ;)
 
I'm just amused by the U stylized as a V.

It makes me want to pronounce it "chorvs" or t͡ʃˈoː͡ɹvz

I don't know why I am so amused by that.

That is exactly what I thought. On the one hand, looks cool and doesn't take itself too seriously. OTOH, games like Descent and Forsaken made my head explode, just too movement. But hey I might pick up down the road in a cheap bundle deal...
 
Yeah ever since the first trailer they showed for this game, I've been pretty interested.

I had a similar reaction with the Harry Potter movies, with Professor Dumbledore's first name "Albus" being shown as "Albvs" a few times.
 
I'll be interested if the game is cheap enough. At $39.99 I'm probably interested, at $59.99 I'm out.

It's listed at $39.99 for pre-order right now on Steam - with no discount or anything mentioned. Console edition might be higher though, if it comes to consoles.

Sure.

This is a still from a 60's children's TV series named "Vi på Saltkråkan" written by Astrid Lindgren (same author as Pippi Longstocking). Astrid Lindren had lots of her children's books adapted for film, but this was the only thing she ever wrote directly for film production.

The series focused on a widower and his 4 kids living on an island in the Stockholm archipelago

The girl pictured was the character "Tjorven" (her nickname) and her dog "Båtsman".

She was an obnoxious chubby little kid who always got into misadventures.

Growing up in Sweden in the 80's there wasn't a whole lot of TV content for kids. Some were lucky and lived in areas where cable TV was available. The rest of us had access to exactly two state owned broadcast channels. "Channel 1" and "TV2" (I know, strange and inconsistent naming conventions there)

They didn't often broadcast children's programming, but when they did it was often really old stuff from the 60's.

I thought of it because her nickname would be pronounced the same as my intentional mispronunciation of the title of this game but with an "en" on the end (In Swedish, adding an "en" to the end of a word is the equivalent of putting a "the" before a word in English.)

Exciting, I know.

My dad got stationed in Norway for a time and we were in Oslo during the mid 80's so I know what you mean. Sky Channel was a huge thing that came out right when we were coming back to the U.S. For us American kids it was a big deal when new families came over and had VHS tapes of recorded TV that we'd all swap to watch.
