It may not be long until Disney+ subscribers can begin streaming Sony’s popular Spider-Man films. As explained in a press release shared by Sony Pictures today, Disney and Sony have entered into a content licensing agreement that allows Spider-Man films released in 2022 to 2026 to be streamed on Disney+ about nine months after they hit theaters. The deal also grants rights to select titles, which not only include Sam Raimi’s classic Spider-Man trilogy but other franchises such as Jumanji and Hotel Transylvania. Disney+ is not the only Disney-owned platform to benefit from this agreement; Sony Pictures’ content is also expected to reach Hulu, ABC, Disney Channels, Freeform, FX, and National Geographic.
