I thought there was a thread for this game already, or a news post, but couldn't find any.

DF looks at the game on base PS5:

Made by ex-Criterion and ex-EA devs. Game uses UE5. 60fps is the minimum target framerate, even on XBSS. Regardless of framerate, the game's internal tick rate is 60fps for the vehicle physics and handling. This is mainly for a consistent network experience. XBSS doesn't get the hardware version of UE5's special Lumen lighting. None of the console versions get RT reflections, cuz there's no point. The game is too fast paced and there's not many reflections in the environments, so might as well go with performance-saving traditional SSR.

I played the f*ck outta Star Wars Episode I: Racer on N64 back when it came out, then again years later on Dreamcast. So I'm looking forward to this game. I've never played Star Wars Racer Revenge on PS2. No idea how people felt about that game. I've always wanted to try Star Wars: Racer Arcade, but never found that arcade game out in the wild anywhere. Maybe I can play it via emulation somehow. But yeah this new game looks promising.

One of the local coin-op places here had the arcade for a while. I never could beat the higher difficulties, but the easy level was easy to beat. I'd show up, grab a drink, watch a few people try to play and lose. Never seen anyone beat it in person there, but I'd sit my drink down and pick the easy level and win. Sucks that even though you'd win you never got to do another race. It was basically over and more money to try another level.
