Respawn Entertainment is planning to announce a sequel to its critically acclaimed Star Wars game, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, this year.

The claim comes from Jeff Grubb, who spoke on today’s episode of GrubbSnax and reported that the sequel to the action-adventure hit starring Jedi Knight Cal Kestis will be announced in either May or a date before this year’s E3 show, which is slated to take place as an online-only event.

“Expect to hear about the game in a significant way before E3,” Grubb said, adding that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s sequel has a small chance of coming out this year. The title is more likely to release in early 2023, however.

“A galaxy-spanning adventure awaits in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, a new third-person action-adventure title from Respawn Entertainment,” reads the official description for the...

I know the popular opinion is to be enthusiastic about this, but I think Fallen Order has to be one of the most overrated titles I played in the past few years, next to Titanfall 2. Both games seemed average at best and couldn't keep me seated for the duration to even finish their campaigns.

I agree. I was amped to play Fallen Order, but sadly I was trying to base my comparison off of my JK series experience.

I never could get into the parkour-heavy games for some reason

Agreed. This game got so much hype and I wanted to like it just for the Star Wars value.... but I did not care for it, didn't finish it. It looks good and sounds like SW, but the gameplay was super meh. Too much timed dodge/jump/block/counter combat... uh, shouldn't a lightsaber cut through anything? Why would I have to hit an enemy more than once?

It is pretty to look at though. But I won't be buying the sequel.

Re: Titanfall 2, which I just finished.... I also agree. Looks neat but nothing outstanding to play. Also... I HATE the wallrunning / timed jumping sequences. It was better than the first I guess, but that didn't have a campaign. The whole thing about TF is you *want* to be in a titan/mech blowing stuff up. Being on foot kinda blows... and I'd say 70% of the single player campaign was on foot.

I wanted Fallen order to be like Jedi Knight or Jedi Outcast, games that did lightsaber battles right. The bossfights in Jedi Knight are some of the most difficult but good bossfights ever. Dark Forces is too archaic to be revived, but I'd actually want a remaster of Jedi Knight.

As for titanfall I don't know what it was trying to be, was it a mech game an fps, or a parkour game? It's like the creators couldn't decide either so they made it a little bit of everything. But in puddle deep versions. I also felt it was trying to mimic half life too especially with the tutorial / training level. I don't mind games copying other games, but the univresal rule of thumb should be when you are doing something that has been done already is to make sure you do it better than the last guy.

I got the Steam version of Fallen Order as a Christmas present one year (and that sh1t installs an Origin thin-client, so hooray). I finished the game, but I thought it was very "meh." Everyone I know who played it liked it a lot more than I did. I thought the Jedi Knight series and the first Force Unleashed were waaaaaaay better games than Fallen Order. I just couldn't get into it, wasn't having an absolute blast playing it, it felt kinda clunky and stilted, a little stiff and unimpressive. Honestly I'm surprised I even did finish it.

I also finished Titanfall 2, and also thought it was barely worth my attention. I only paid 5 bucks for it though.

Like Mirror's Edge and Dying Light?

Yeah, that sounds about right.

Ugh, tried JK Jedi Academy on my 3700X box...... It randomly quits. It makes baby jesus cry.
Kinda wanted to play it again.

I'm one of those that's looking forward to this one. I really enjoyed Fallen Order. Yeah it wasn't the best game I've ever played but it was a lot of fun, I liked the atmosphere, the control/action was fun and the story was very good. It's nowhere near an Arkham City, Bioshock or Dead Space but it was still a lot of fun. If the sequel is at least as good, I'll be in for a copy.

Could do with a bit less backtracking but the game itself was fine for me.
