Valve has published a new support page that can confirm Steam no longer supports older versions of Windows—namely, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1, the latter of which released to consumers over 10 years ago and lost mainstream support in January 2018.

This makes sense. Windows 10 support they will need to keep around a bit longer but otherwise... yea no surprises here... other than they probably supported their cline on older versions of Mac than most other vendors would have bothered.

"No longer supports" isn't necessarily the same thing as "No longer runs on"
