Pretty much the same. I like the concept but am not into multiplayer anything and also feel like I'm in the minority market with that anymore.

I still haven't found anything that comes close to the MW2 vibe.
Yeah, I got a little excited when I saw this thinking that we haven't really seen much AAA Mech stuff in a while. To me, it really seems like we're at a nice point with CPU/GPU tech that a new game could do really well with modern visuals and so on.

Nobody wants to invest in it. It's gotten such a bad name for itself since the demise of Virtual World.

Still see places with those pods on rare occasion.... and still love me some Red planet racing. :)

Meh.

There are only two types of games I will play these days.

1.) First person single player with a story.
2.) Single player god mode turn based strategy (like Sid Meier's Civilization)

I'm really not willing to give any other game even a second of my time or a penny of my money.

I'm at the point in my life where I know what I like and what I don't like, and I am no longer going to be wasting my time on things that I don't like.

Well there have been quite a few titles - the MW franchise itself is up to #5 with an additional Online PVP-oriented game. Battletech is out there, but I never found it to be quite as good. Titanfall kinda sorta fits in that genre.

Just none of them really live up to my memory of MW2 - which, I will admit, probably is a lot better than the actual MW2 ever was.

I remember enjoying it. I got a special edition of the game bundled with my Matrox Mystique in 1996, patched to take advantage of that GPU.

I had completely forgotten about this until now.

I remember enjoying it, but I don't recall it being one of my favorite titles.

As a side note there was also some motorcycle game in that bundle, also specially patched for the Matrox Mystique. Some googling suggests it was Moto Racer.

It wasn't a great game, but being my first 3D GPU it was the first time I experienced real fluid framerates on the PC, so that was pretty exciting.
That Mystique only lasted a year before dying.

It was a weird situation compared to now. The store (some big box computer retailer in Sweden) actually honored the warranty, so I got a refund instead of a replacement like we get these days. Turned right around and bought a 6MB Voodoo 1 off the shelf (Miro Hiscore 3d, equivalent to the Canopus Pure 3D in the U.S.)

The Mystrique was an exciting card, being my first one, but the Voodoo 1 was way better :p
