Oscar recipients generally talk about their craft and inspirations during backstage interviews, but Taika Waititi chose to bash Apple instead after winning an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay (Jojo Rabbit). When asked about the needs of writers last night, the Thor: Ragnarok director went on a comedic rant about the tech giant and how it needs to “fix those keyboards.”



“They are impossible to write on. They have gotten worse, makes me want to go back to PCs, because PC keyboards, the bounce-back for your fingers is way better. And hands up, who still uses a PC? You know what I’m talking about; it’s a way better keyboard, and those Apple keyboards are horrendous. And especially as the computers…as the laptops get newer and newer, here’s...

Why... Pixar is Disney, not Apple. Next you're going to say "Good luck ordering from Amazon".

Now does Pixar use a lot of Mac PC's. probably. But that doesn't meant they wouldn't hire a director/writer.

My feedback would be... you don't need to write your **** scrip on an apple. AND... Buy an external keyboard.
 
Pixar, Apple and Disney do have a long and close relationship though, that goes way beyond just using Mac computers.

Steve Jobs was one of the original investors in Pixar - the single largest until the Disney buyout. Disney’s CEO, up until just last year, sat on Apple’s Board of Directors.

Exactly. At one point I think Lasseter also had ties to Apple thru Jobs as well.

This doesn't really support my statement about possible ties but it does show there was a closer relationship to the company than some remember now.
