So my sister-in-law has an interview in teams and wants to use my niece laptop. I said sure no prob, I just need to install teams, register your account and you are good to go.

To my surprise the laptop was already upgraded to windows 11 so I tought, GREAT!!!, teams is already installed. Just need to register her account and that's it.
Hold up your horses, not that fast. after you register the account teams MANDATES you use windows hello for autentication. There doesn't seem to be anyway around it.

My niece laptop is her work laptop, so I can't add a new user. So I figured my inlaw just use my niece account its a one time only and just need to change the name.
So I click the link for the meeting and it just won't open on teams for some reason.

I just ended up using the web version.

On 2nd thought that should have been my first option.

I've yet to try to use Teams on my Windows 11 build...

Let's see how it goes!

I use teams on win 11 through work. No issues. Works normally.

You can replace the word "on" with "and" and be entirely accurate.

Microsoft Teams learns what the Enter key is for — the long-awaited 'new line' option is coming

News
By Sean Endicott published 20 hours ago
After years of accidental sends and user frustration, Microsoft is finally giving Teams users the option to make the Enter key start a new line instead of immediately sending a message.

Microsoft Teams will soon support another feature that the app probably should have launched with. In the near future, Microsoft Teams will allow you to control how the Enter key works when composing messages.

After the feature rolls out, you'll be able to choose whether pressing Enter starts a new line or sends a message. At the moment, pressing Enter sends a message, which can result in accidental sends.

The upcoming feature, which was spotted by XDA, appears on the Microsoft 365 Roadmap. It is expected to roll out in February 2026, though that is not a firm release date.

Alt-Enter is a thing - for those that don't know.

Ctrl-Enter is supposed to be the new "Send" (according to the tooltip), but plain old Enter still sends a message.

MS Teams is a dumpster fire we're forced to use at work. I'm not a fan.

I use shift-enter all the time for doing multi line posts with spacing in teams. Works like a charm.

Never knew this.

I used alt + enter (like in excel)

The problem was I would press control instead of alt & that would send the message

I always hear people on Teams saying "I put something-or-another in chat"

And I think "Oh, that's cute. I thought we were chatting?"

I am one of those people. Trying to communicate with heavily accented all ne it talented people... sometimes I will put it in chat or simply ask them to.
