TechPowerup posted performance comparisons of different PCI-E bandwidth usage to see if there was any advantage to the new 4.0 support in the new Ampere cards. With the 3080 they found the difference was statistically insignificant. So those of us still on an Intel CPU can rest easy and not worry about missing out on the increased PCI-E bandwidth with this generation. That may change in the future, however, and Intel will have 4.0 and 5.0 support in future chips.
