YouTuber Gaming with Griff Griffin has shared a neat trick that allows The Ascent players to check out the indie title’s beautiful, neon-lit visuals more intimately. A free camera can be enabled in the game with the use of a tool called the Universal Unreal Engine 4 Unlocker, allowing players to view the game through a first-person perspective.
The results are surprising. Despite being an isometric shooter that’s meant to be viewed at a top-down camera angle from far away, The Ascent demonstrates a surprising amount of detail even up close, well enough to compete with games that were designed for first person.
