Why not do a new elder scrolls? Why retell the same story again? Or is this just based off of the MOD of Oblivion in Skyrim?

They are making TESVI supposedly. This is probably outsourced. I have no problem with it as long as they don't mess it up.

The Oblivion remake is reportedly “fully remade” with Unreal Engine 5, with six reworked gameplay systems: stamina, sneaking, blocking, archery, hit reaction and HUD.

The devil is in the details. They're messing with some of my favorite systems. This could be good or it might suck. I just know that trying to cram 20 years worth of mods to modernize the original (plus all DLS, of course) is no longer worth the effort ... at least for me. I've put in my 1000 hours (or thereabout). In fact, just last weekend I reinstalled ... played a few hours and ... let's just say that itch has been scratched.

I'm probably not the target audience for this remake.

I haven't played Oblivion since 2013 (or Skyrim since 2017), so I might check this out. But it depends on the pricing, I'm not paying 60 or 70 for an old game. It needs to be sub €40 for me to even think about it.

I think I'll wait for the The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake Remastered RTX Remix Anniversary Extra Special with one more feature edition. Ought to be out after the 4th or 5th version from this one.
