Following on the heels of IO Interactive’s recent achievement, Poland’s money.pl has revealed that Bloober Team’s new psychological horror title, The Medium, has similarly managed to recuperate all of its production and marketing costs just days after release. This is a pretty big deal for the Kraków-based studio because The Medium is by far the most expensive game that it’s ever worked on, far exceeding the development costs of previous titles such as observer_, Blair Witch, and Layers of Fear.

It's called, global lockdown.

Every game (minus Marvel's Avengers but it's the 2nd best seller in Marvel's history) sold well but not because they all are worthy.

It just means that the majority of gamers are bored out of our freaking minds and just streaming reruns has ran its course.

It's called being backed by Microsoft. It's also the first game on Xbox that is exclusive to the Series S|X as far as I'm aware.

What is up with these recent press releases on "Making back development costs" -- I don't recall ever seeing that before the Cyberpunk one. Now it seems to be a thing?

Whoop-dee-do. You paid for the project. All projects are supposed to do that, and the way gaming sales cycles go - if you don't make it back in the initial sales rush, your screwed. It's like a press release saying "Congratulations - you woke up today!"
