A lot of information for upcoming projects was provided in CD PROJEKT RED’s recent press conference. It seems that The Witcher is coming to mobile devices soon, but with a twist. This new game will be an augmented reality-based monster-hunting app. Think Pokémon GO, but with monsters and critters from The Witcher universe. CD PROJEKT RED president Adam Kiciński had the following to say about it:
3 years ago our friends who had already released many small mobile games under the Spokko label approached us with a bold idea. They were dreaming of bringing The Witcher Universe to a mobile augmented reality game based on geolocation. With monsters, quests, and stories hidden just around the corner.
