What will graphics cards look like in 2035? Intel’s graphics team pondered that very question during the company’s Odyssey event at Computex, where it showed off a variety of concepts drafted by artist and community member Cristiano Siqueira. Siqueira had presented some fan shroud designs before at the last Odyssey event in March, but he’s returned with a few new ideas.

Legit Reviews says the majority of these were designed under the presumption that future GPUs would utilize ionic cooling rather than fans. “Ionic-cooling has been around for years an electric current across two electrodes to move air. When a voltage is applied across the two electrodes, the ions flow from the emitter electrode to the collector. During this process air molecules across an area, so you could cool down a hot spot this way.”

Lolwut? Even more inefficient than Pelletier cooling...and static! Let's put static electricity all over our systems! Yay!
