U.S. Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-VA) today urged leadership at Valve, a prominent video game company, to respond to reports that their gaming distribution and social networking platform, Steam, is hosting extremist and hateful content – including over 1.5 million users and tens of thousands of groups that share and amplify antisemitic, Nazi, sexuality- or gender-based hate, and white supremacist content.

I appreciate the thought, I truly wonder if Valve is willing to risk alienating those 1 million users?

Until something extreme happens and they have no choice, that is.

There is a good chance a lot of those are throwaway accounts, and it would be easy enough to create a new one as soon as one get's deleted and also you will encourage them to hide themselves better, doubt you will stop them.

Sounds like we need a social credit score! Bad behavior tracked by government leading to less life opportunities for trolls! Oh wait... no... that's China.
