Ubisoft Forms a Partnership with Tencent to Create a Subsidiary That Will Handle Its Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six IPs

I can't really figure this out.

So they spin off 3 of the bigger franchises, but leave Ubi in charge...

Ubi gets some relief I guess, even though it looks like the direct investment is only to those 3 franchises, that still frees up some resources for them to divert elsewhere, if they chose to.

Wonder why only those 3 franchises though, and who's idea/push was for that. I mean, those 3 franchises probably do represent the vast majority of Ubisoft's earnings, but still...

They are isolating their currently in their eyes most valuable IPs, so these can't be so easily auctioned off in bankruptcy proceedings. This is the only goal here, I believe.
