References in a Steam beta client update discovered by Pavel Djundik suggest that Valve may be developing a mobile controller or all-in-one console device. It follows recent news that Steam could be working on a way of bringing more games to consoles. This would not be Valve’s first attempt at bridging PC and console gaming: previously, it had tried its hand with Steam Machines.

Probably be as much of a success as Steam Machines...

I mean look at how much effort they keep investing into SteamOS and Link.
Yeah this is probably what will kill it. At least Google will kill a project and you know it’s dead… Valve just ignores them to death.

Although I think they did official kill the Steam
Link, which was a shame - it was a nice lil piece of hardware for what it did. It didn’t do much - but what it did it did very well.
