Warner Bros. Releases Official Trailer for The Matrix Resurrections

As promised earlier in the week, Warner Bros. has finally released the trailer for its fourth and highly anticipated installment of The Matrix, The Matrix Resurrections. It looks pretty promising.



The trailer begins with Keanu Reeves (who looks a little too much like one of his other beloved characters, John Wick) sitting in a therapy session with Neil Patrick Harris and asking his character whether he’s crazy.



Apparently, Neo has no recollection of what he went through in the previous Matrix films and has completely forgotten that he’s an all-important and extremely powerful figure known as The One. The concept is reinforced throughout the trailer, with Neo, as Thomas A. Anderson, living an aimless and confused life. He doesn’t even recognize his love Trinity when he shakes her hand.

Is this when we find out that the John Wick universe was one of the simulated realities of the Matrix? Where Neo will have to team up with Ted from Bill and Ted and Jack Traven from Speed to fix the issues with time caused by the original ending of The Matrix trilogy, where the "death" of Neo and the Smiths caused the machine city core to collapse, resulting in a black hole that threatens space-time itself (as shown in one of the rare Matrix comics - don't Google it cuz you won't find it)? I think there's one part where Neo has to keep flying at speeds above 50 mph in order to stop the current Matrix reality from shutting down. Trinity is alive because all branches of time have converged inside the Matrix. Neo has absorbed the essences of all the previous versions of the One and becomes the Many, a being far more powerful than even the Architect and the Oracle could have ever imagined. Together with Kevin Flynn, he will save the Matrix and restore the real world by combining the two.

Of course this doesn't all happen in Matrix 4, they need to save some for 5 and 6.

There are a lot of plotholes to cover. The 2 obvious ones Neo and Trinity are alive in the matrix but it also seems they are alive outside. I can accept both living in the matrix as it has been established that the body can't survive without the mind; but maybe the mind can survive without the body.

On a sidenote Neil Patrick Harris look really old.

On a sidenote Neil Patrick Harris look really old.

Because he went to the crossroads and sold his soul to learn true magic. Used his abilities to make Keanu Reeves the ultimate super star in LA, and still humble. Then turned around and traded the souls of all of the actors that have died recently to extend his own life.

That or drugs and partying like he was going to Whitecastle for the last 10 years took it's toll..


Or... you know.. we're all older now.
