What is your favorite window manager for linux?

What are your honorable mentions?

And Why do you like it?

Gala, cuz it's for newbs. Otherwise Openbox due to its minimal hardware impact.

Don't really need them for what I do though.

On my FreeBSD installations, I like to use XFCE. It does what is needed, with minimal setup. Lots of the BSD guys like to use basic window managers like openbox and manually install all the widgets, gadgets, and the like. I may play around with that some day, but for now, just getting the system where I can do basic use without the bloat of KDE (though I do like it in general) or GNOME.

Currently on Plasma 6 on both of my currently-running systems, was previously using Plasma 5. I still really lice Xfce a lot. I used to be cool with Gnome back in the day, but I haven't liked Gnome for the last decade or more now. My brother uses Awesome WM (he prefers tiling window managers).
