Microsoft has rolled out a new update for Windows 11 22H2 (KB5028185) that reduces stuttering when gaming with high-report-rate mice. This is a problem that Microsoft originally detailed in a May blog post that, while titled "Delivering Delightful Performance for More Than One Billion Users Worldwide," explained how higher poll rates, such as 1,000 Hz, could result in "significant stutter" for Windows gaming. Microsoft's new update also addresses an issue that could cause File Explorer to stop working, among other things.

I have had this issue with Excel for some reason - if my mouse is set to anything faster than 200Hz Excel slows to a crawl.

I wonder if that's fixed with this patch.
Good question - my current Logitech doesn't support changing the polling rate (that I am aware of), but I'm sure I still have an old gaming mouse around someplace that would. Will try it out sometime this weekend
