Isn't there already another thread for this?
Just saw the other thread that was made. That one referenced TechPowerUp, which I did see and check out while researching this, but I sourced directly from Sony's PR and also included some info from Rtings.com regarding their recent testing of OLED panels.
Just a heads up, and I think more than a few folks here know, brand loyalty doesn't always mean what's under the hood matches brand name. As I mentioned in this article, TCL also has ties to Samsung, who has also used LG panels on occasion, and so on. I also read how Sony was at the forefront in developing OLED but most are more familiar with LG in this regard. I do recommend watching the video in the post as it did make some waves back in December when released. There are some caveats to their findings but still interesting.
On that note, our LG C9 which was moved into the cave a year or so ago is till going strong. I don't know exactly how many, but definitely thousands of hours of use, plenty of which has been gaming since it's relocation.
The brand ecosystem has been changing up for a while now and while most are still around (but more than a couple are gone) there's plenty of incidents where all have cut a deal with each other for their respective technology to release a product under a specific brand name.
